This is a baseline out-of-bounds play against man-to-man defense.
Player of coach’s choice inbounds the ball. Remaining players are positioned as follows: one on the ball-side block, two stacked on the opposite block, and one at the top of the key.
How It Works
The player on the ball-side block runs out to the corner and receives the inbound pass. The player at the top of the key flashes to the ball and receives the next pass. The two stacked players step in and set a double screen for the inbound player, who runs off looking for a catch-and-shoot on the opposite wing. If the first option isn’t available, the player who started on the ball-side block then steps back in and sets a screen for one of the two stacked players (the better shooter of the two should use the screen). This player runs off the screen looking for a catch-and-shoot in the ball-side corner.
Key Coaching Points
-First option: inbound player running off the double screen.
-Second option: one of the originally stacked players running off the ball-side block screen.
